Fusion Scotland Board Member

At this time God is at work amongst the student population in Scotland in a way we haven’t witnessed before. Many students are open to the gospel and willing to explore faith in Jesus. Those who already know him are becoming bolder in sharing their faith and are keen to be discipled well. At Fusion Scotland we want to help the church make the most of this opportunity. To do that we need passionate and skilled people to join our board.

Fusion Scotland began in 2018 as a part of the Fusion Movement. Fusion originated in England in 1998 and is growing into a global movement, with national charities developing across Europe and America. Fusion Scotland exists as an independent entity in its own right. As a movement our purpose is to give every student an opportunity to find hope in Jesus and home in the local church. We equip churches with tools and confidence to love, reach and disciple students.

Fusion Scotland is currently looking to strengthen and expand our Board of Trustees. If you are passionate about the church and students being reached and discipled this role could be for you. The board is where quality governance collides with Spirit wildness as we hold in tension a faith-filled pursuit of all that God has for Fusion Scotland.

This is an unpaid voluntary position. Reasonable expenses are paid.

Board members are expected to attend four board meetings per year, but also to participate in the life of the movement between board meetings. Meetings are held mid-week in the central belt (two in-person and two online).

The role involves:

  • Attending four meeting days a year

  • Supporting the Chair, Fusion Scotland Team, and other trustees

  • Preparing well for meetings, contributing agenda items and challenging constructively

  • Taking responsibility for and understanding good governance

  • Involvement in strategic planning for Fusion Scotland

  • Influencing policy (HR, Risk Management)

  • Helping Fusion Scotland to grow and scale

  • Praying for the Fusion Movement

We are willing to consider candidates with or without prior board experience.

We are particularly welcoming of applicants with expertise in finance, governance and communication but also are open to those with other skill sets.
